Just installed DRAG III kit....HELP!!!
Ok heres the problem. I have a 98 Integra Type R. The first time I drove it, the boost only rose to about 2 psi but it pulled noticably harder than before the turbo. We tightened the wastegate and tried again. Only 2 psi read on the gauge . So we tightened the wastegate a little more and tried again. Same thing and it wasnt any faster!! The vacuum reads 18 which is normal, right? So I know the boost gauge is wired right. I turned my car off for a few minutes and took it out again. This time the boost stayed right under 0 at full throttle. My car felt like a DX. It seems like the higher RPM's the more power I lose. What can be wrong? We checked all the hoses and clamps and everything is on secure. Seriously my car is slower than before. Any help would be appreciated. What could be wrong?
Yep. Could my knock sensor be causing problems?? Could it be retarding the timing so much it takes all the power away?? But that wouldnt affect the boost gauge would it??
You are definately leaking or not creating boost in the first place.
I would check that:
1) There is not a HUGE exhaust leak somewhere between the head and turbo
2) Your IC piping is very tight (using a screwdriver on those clamps WILL NOT work, use a ratchet)
3) Your BOV is installed with the O ring and is not leaking.
4) Your BOV is adjusted correctly and is not open all the time
5) The turbine/compressor wheels actually spin

Im going to go check my BOV right now. The guy who installed my turbo adjusted it because he said that it might be the problem. Maybe he turned it the wrong way because it was late and now its open all the time. Hmmm....
Yeah dude check your pipes. When I first boosted I blew off one of my pipes. 0 on the boost guage for miles and slooooow. I was scared until I check all my connections.
haha.. i blew a pipe off last night going home, thank god i carry tools with me now.. never know when it might be worse than a pipe hose fitting..
i'm with the rest... check all the pipes...

Ok I finally found the problem. The bearing in the turbo is shot! They sent me a bad turbo. The compressor wheel does not turn very easily and gets stuck. The compressor turbine wobbles around like its going to fall off!! So I parked my car and im waiting for my new turbo. Im pretty pissed off though because now there is probably metal shavings in my oil...I hope my filter catches all of it. I removed the distributor and cranked the engine a few times to build oil pressure before I started the car for the first time with the turbo so I know it is nothing I did. They better overnight me a turbo because now I dont have any transportation. Im just glad I found what it was. Thanks for the help guys...Ill keep you updated
