Default OPinions on sludge in compressor housing?

opnion needed, i took off my housing yesterday just for ***** and giggles. and i noticed i had like oil sludge caked up in the housing. i cleaned it up pretty good where i could get a rag to it, but im curious why ? does that mean my seals are bad? someone suggested too much oil pressure causing it to do that? i dunno , someone else told me its normal and not the seals unless its like dripping oil out of it . It doesnt smoke at all and only like 7 months old.
suggestions ?

Do you turbo time your car after driving it...?

yea i checked the pipes and nothing really, the one directly fromt he turbo had a tiny bit of sludge in it, but my return line gasket was leaking right into the silicone coupler, so it mighta seeped in from there. . . i got everything sealed now, so i think im just gonna pop it back on and run it for a while and take it back apart and see.

yes i time it, at 1st when i didnt have the timer hokoed up , i would sit in the car for a short short time . now i set the timer to auto so it senses load and what not to determine the cooldown time .
someone else told me the pressure ffrom the feed line causing it ? and maybe to put some sort of thing in line to take the pressure down from the block ? i dunno how true that is though.

it's usually your seals.

What size feed and return line are you using? I would suggest -3 or -4 for feed and -8 or -10 for return. I have seen this problem with people using small feeds and returns, where the oil either backs up or too much pressure is forced into the turbo.

the feed is -4 and the return is -10.

I can gurantee if you use a -3AN, the smudges will be reduced by significant amount. I had sold to many people here and I even used it on our race car. The seals are already wekened and we would get a lot of oil smudges after each run. I took the -4AN lines out and use my-3AN, and the housing stays clean for 3-4 runs before we see slight oil versus 1 run previously.
