Default turbo install problem.....add ather flange to the manifold to make the turbo clear the block ?

last night i tried to help my homie and fellow HT member (arsenaldragster) install a turbo kit on his 95 integra . this was not my first time installing a turbo kit , i have done a few before .

we ran into a problem with the manifold and turbo , the manifold is a F-max manifold and the turbo was from my old RevHard kit (standad T3T4) . the Fmax mani is so short that positions the turbo right onthe face of the block , not allowing the the manifold to sit flush on the head . i knw sometimes you have to shave the "webbing" part on the block but it clears thatno problem . it hits like an inch left of the dip-stick .

this morning derek (arsenaldragster) had an idea . he asked me if you could just put a 2nd flange on the manifold , setting the turbo a little bit further out ,would that work ? he has to keep the AC so removing it is not an option . woul adding another flange set the turbo to far down , not allowing the oil to drain out of the turbo properly . its already low enough as it is .

thanks in advance

Hey man, I got a question for you...
I have an FMAX Mani and Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo from the FMAX kit, Will i be running into the same problem as you when doing the iunstallation?

Or is it because your ur using a revhard turbo, which is the reason for all the troubles your encountering?

TIA

I dont know the acutal housing size on the turbonetics turbo.. The revhard came with a Garret. My bet is you will encounter the same problem as I have. But you might want to ask JonnyDanger.. he might have a turbonetics laying around that we can test-fit. I think if i get that flange I should be okay. I will let you guys know when I get mine in.. Hit me up if someone here has a T3 Flange for sale. Thanks!

if the turbo and the manifold are both from the Fmax kit then you should not have a problem . i helped install a Fmax kit a few years ago and i dont remember having to shave anything . if you do end up shaving something it would most likely be the "webbing" over by the engine code .

I am late on this and was gonna say we have done that before(put another flange on) with the Garrett 4 bolt discharge turbos, but I see it worked for you. Congrats
