Anyone had trouble with their GE sleeve?
A buddy of mine has been having trouble with his motor he got back from GE. I was just wondering if maybe it was just this motor or maybe someone else has had the same problem. Hes having a hard time getting it to seal, hes run the bars leak thru and everthing. Needless to say, hes not very happy.

When was the block sleeved and if you could contact your friend and have him IM me the serial number, that would help me out. Thanks.
Also, is it a headgasket problem or is it a water leak problem. Also, have him contact us at (909) 592 - 4311 and speak with Ted. He will let your friend know what to do. We will be here to help him out 100%

big thumbs up to GE, i know a person who had a GE sleave problem in his car and when the motor let go and it was the sleaves fault. GE stepped right up to the plate and backed the customer 100 percent and he got a new block and sleaves for free.they never once even gave him a hard time or the normal run around we as import guys are just used to getting from companys.
for GE!

I have numerous friends with GE blocks who have sank a sleeve. , after the 3rd one, i decided not to go w/ them anymore

[/QUOTE] thats pretty decent if you think about it. I have a question to the guys at GE, why would the sleevs sink in the first place? Dont they sit on some sort of shelf in the bottom? Just a few questions I've wondered, especially with all the problems that I've heard about from Benson blocks and alot of others.
What is the solution to the problem, I would really like to know cause I'm thinking about doing an all motor set up myself, and want to put my money into quality, and educate myself before I go jumping into it. Do it once, do it right is what I say.

My two GE Blocks and 7-8 friends` blocks have been fine for thousands of miles. I`ve seen more gasket problems than anything on 82-85mm blocks.

Look, there are so many companies to go to know that offer sleeving. All I can say is do your homework. Talk to people with real world experiences and not the ones that had a friend who's dogs original owners girlfiends brother had a sleeve drop. I have never even seen a sleeve drop. That is a term that just gets tossed around WAY too much in here. If someone has a problem with ANY sleeved block, it's automatically a dropped sleeve. Like I said. Do your homework and talk to people that have worked with, touched, smelled and built the product. They will direct you in the right direction.
