84.5 mm bore and leaking issues??
is it just me or do 84.5mm (benson sleeved) GSR blocks have a better tendency to leak at the HG??
I"m currently running a Cometic and had some coolant/oil leaking issues.. I just retorqued the head and I believe the problem may have come back cuz I still see a little milky build up under the valvecover.. I cleaned it off b4 putting it back on and drove it for a couple days..
I just ordered a GE headgasket to replace it so hopefully it will solve the problem.. alos, any other suggestions to help make it get a good seal this time?? replacing HG's can get pretty expensive.. especially after spending a couple grand on a complete rebuild..

while you have it appart this time make sure everything is square.
we use copper spray on cometic HP headgaskets unless the sleeves are higher than the block like RS Machine does. If the sleeves are decked flat with hte top of the block then only use the multi layer not the HP.
using a cometic hp gasket with raised sleeves will result in leakage every time.

i'm not sure if benson sleeves are stepped or not, but i dont think the problem lies b/w the cylnders..
i remember the other day trying to bleed the coolant by keeping the rad cap open while the car was running, and noticed that the coolant was bubbling over kinda like what u would see in a hot tub.. b4 the fans came on, it didn't do this and there wasn't any water drops dancing on the surface either.. so what gives??
