walbro fuel pumps...please read...
Whats up guys... Tonight I noticed something a little scary with my car. I was doing a full throttle blast when I noticed that around 5k in fourth gear my wideband a/f gauge started creeping up on me fast from 12.0 to 13.0 and then a little higher
Also with this my car started to fall on its face very bad, so I looked at my gas gauge and the needle was just about on the red.. Just for the hell of it I did another quick blast and the same thing happened.. I thought I remembered hearing something about the walbro fuel pumps not liking a low tank, so I filled my car up w/3 gallons of gas, did another blast and everything felt back to normal. Has anyone ever expirenced a problem like this??? BTW, my fuel setup is a 255 lph in tank pump, fmu w/6-1 disc and 310cc injectors.. Any help is greatly appriciated...

i don't know cause i normally will not let the needle go down that far, nor will i hit WOT or higher rpm when the gas tank is low. i always try to keep at least an 1/8 of a tank if not a 1/4 tank of gas. there is a point where even with a stock fuel pump i would feel a difference when the tank got down to about 1/4 tank or less, less power possibly due to less fuel being pumped. since last year i've been using a Walbro 255 intake pump, but no problems like what you mentioned that i recall.

I am going to do a couple more full throttle passes today to see if the problem returns... I think the gas was just too low, but I wanted to see if anyone could confirm this..
