Default Stalling on low fuel!!!!

Whenever the fuel gauge is low, almost but not quite in the red part my 92 civic stalls, starts up again goes for a while then stalls agian. Eventually it doesn't start at all after a few stalls. When I fill up everything is good again and no problems till I reach the low mark again. What gives?? Has anyone had this problem before? This started after I got hit from side, on the drivers side, right by the fuel latch!!Thanks for any imput!!!

sounds like your gauge is not really reading correctly compared to what your pickup is actually able to get, most likely when you were hit it may have dented the gas tank, thereby giving you less volume in the tank and you're running out of gas earlier.

you better pull the tank and see what gives. fuel tank is probaly tweaked. Maybe fuel pickup is bent?

My input is this: Simply put. Keep gas in the tank. Its not good to run the tank low cause dirt gets in the filter and clogs it. Keep atleast 1/4, dont go any less.
