HID Problem
i just ordered a set of 6000k Ultinon Phillips HID from AutoLamps.com.
the kit came in today, i finished up with the install, but neither right or left bulbs turn on. i rechecked all the wiring from the halogen to the ballast, then from the ballast to the battery, and everything is correct. i called up their England office and they said it sounds like i have a "reverse polarity" setup.
so i am asking you guys who have installed HIDs....did you have this problem? do you know if integras have "reverse polarity"? btw, i have a 01' GSR...don't know if that helps. the person at customer service said she would have to send me a reverse polarity kit...
i didn't touch the bulbs with my fingers, so i'm sure i didn't burn up the bulbs...any help would be appreciated.

I highly doubt that reverse polarity setup. Integra headlights are pretty normal from what I can tell. Did you change your headlight fuses to 20A? If not, the initial startup voltage required for the HID bulbs will instantly pop the stock 10A fuses.
try switching the power / ground wires when you connect it.. thats what it means by reverse polarity. it's different on all cars i think. my setup needed only one side to reverse, while the other worked fine normally
which power/ground wires? coming from the bulb are two plugs, which plug into the ballast. from the ballast is a harness with a plug, and a pos. and neg. loops. the plug on the harness plugs into the stock halogen outlet...
are you saying put the + loops on the - terminal of the battery?
ps. yes i switched the fuses to 20A...still don't work.

Are the lights powered by the stock headlight wiring, or directly by the battery using relays? If there are relays, then you do not have to upgrade fuses. My Phillips kit hooks up directly to the stock headlight wires w/o any other wiring, which require upgrading the fuses. Maybe if you could include some pics showing what is included in your kit and how it hooks up.
It sounds as though he's getting juice directly from the battery and the relays are switched by the stock wiring and plugs.
Did you ground the relays directly to the battery. Could be they aren't grounded properly to the frame. Going to the battery (you can use the stock strut tower bar to route the wiring from the driver's side to the battery) ensures proper grounding.

some other guy on this site had a diagram of his HID setup which was almost identicle to mine.
i'll try the best i can to describe it.
standard Philips Ballast (2x). has 2 ports. the top port is where the wiring harness plugs into the ballast, the other is where the ballast plugs into the HID bulb.
the harness (2x) has 2 plugs. one plugs into the ballast, the other plugs into the factory halogen outlet where your factory bulbs are plugged into.
at the end of the wiring harnesses, are a pos. loop and a neg. loop.
i put the pos. loops on the pos. terminal of the battery, and the neg. loops on the neg. terminal of the battery. i mounted the ballasts, made sure everything was plugged into the proper place. i reconnect the neg. terminal, get inside my car, and turn on the headlights...
the bottom corner lenses turn on, my brights turn on, but now low beams.
i either:
A) have fried ballasts
B) have fried bulbs (took both out, looks perfect to me)
C) wiring harness is faulty (company said EVERYTHING is tested before it leaves the factory)
or
D) my setup is "reverse polarity"...meaning i have to get another wiring harness which switches the wires around.
now i don't know what i did or who i pissed off that in turn caused my whole setup to have this shitty ordeal....but it's not cool. everybody i know that has HIDs on their hondas never had this problem. i have a DVD player and all kinds of other "ICE"...maybe that had something to do with it.

or maybe they actually sent you the reverse polarity harnesses by mistake, and what you need is the regular ones.
I would have no idea to tell which ones you have though.
