To all you fellas and gals out their with turbo setups on your SOHC Vtec or non. What sort of life have you seen out of the engine and what sort of setup and tuning did you have? Alos what is a more common failure head gasket, rods, pistons?

It all depends on the tuning. If you have poor tuning the first to go is usually the ring lands from detonation. A properly tuned engine can and will last 100k+ miles boosted.

 

with my old setup i ran 6psi for a year and three months on walbro intank fuel pump and a 12:1 fmu.

new setup 9 psi with 450cc and smc+ for about 5 months now....
now got rid of the smc+ and now running the UBERCHIP.
this is all on the same motor.

 

What mileage did your engines have to begin with, or where they fresh? Thanks for the input.
