Default SOHC TURBO setup output

I have a question about how much HP a sohc turbo can put out. Right now, I am planning to get a d15b jdm sohc vtec swap but I was wondering can it make about 220+ whp on stock internals? Can the motor handle high psi and that amount of power without doing any internal work?

Stock rods are toothpicks. The answer will rely in the health of the engine and the ability of your tuner. I personally think you are asking too much.

Yes and no.

That's literally the answer. Some can, some can't. Depends on a lot, especially the tune.

If your going to invest in rods and pistons, why not start with a 1.6 and not the 1.5? The additional displacement may not seem like much, but every bit helps. Easier to find parts for the 1.6 also.

Yeah i could have done it cheaper and built my own downpipe and dump tube, but I figured it would be much easier and faster to just order all the pieces. I'm thinking about switching up the kit this winter to a top mount setup with a different turbo and see what i can get out of this motor, I have a vitara built Z6 waiting to go in, so I might as well see where the breaking point of a D15B is..LOL

Where did you get your motor from? Mine is just from a JDM importer in Canada that has between 30000-40000 miles.

the jdm d15b uses the same rods as the 1.6 single cam variants you can get a kit fron fjt speccifically for the jdmd15b. All in all this is a stout little engine capeable of 220+ whp out of the box. I had mine not sure on the whp but it was on 13 psi and ran for a year untuned only reason it didnt last is the dizzy took a poo and caused one cylinder to not fire under boost
