Default Cracked sleeves and driving

Nice and simple.

Anyone cracked a sleeve and still had the car start?

When I last cracked a sleeve my car would not start at all. I just need to know if it is possible. Thanks.

its possible... depending on where it cracked, how much coolant is able to get in, and so on.. but most the time, when you crack a sleeve, coolant rushes in, and she goes boom

on my first motor that I blew, I drove around with a hairline crack in the sleeve, leaking headgasket, warped head and cracked ringland... The car ran, but not well and over heated if my heater wasnt on full blast and I stopped for more than 30 seconds

Cool thanks. I have coolant exploding out of my radiator fill and steam around the headgasket area and milky oil. I was still able to start the car and limp home. So I am leaning more toward blown headgasket. (Crossing fingers)

Don't drive around the car anymore, unless you don't care about the crank. That chocolate milk that's masquerading as lubrication, isn't. Good luck with it.

Yeah the car is down for the count again. I made it home and put the car to bed. I don't want to touch her for a long time, dirty *****.

I blew my motor at the racetrack and drove it home anout 150 miles..
I had a cracked sleeve and a melted piston
the sleve had a small crack at the top and the piston was burned at the edge...

I put a quart or 2 of oil in every 15 minutes or so... smoked real bad but ran decent...

under boost it was still pretty quick
