Default Sup guys? Im new here ..heres my question/problem

heres my setup..
Automatic D16Y8
Greddy Turbo'd TD04-15G
intercooled
custom 2.5" piping from catback
MSD 8.5mm Wires..

now heres my problem..my car is set for 5.5psi and ever since i put in the msd wires..the cars been creeping up to 7,8, all the way up to 10psi..now heres what i came up with..bigger piping = less backpressure and since i have a internal wastegate it opens up letting boost in. or is it the other way around ? also it will climb up to 7 or 10psi then hold and then drop down below 5psi and hold there..now my question is would i have to get a fuel pressure regulator to prevent my motor from going bye bye? its possible to run 10psi on stock internals right ?

10psi is kinda pushin it.....this happened when you changed your plug wires?! umm... try chanin them back to stock and see what happens, but i suspect it has nothing to do with it. Maybe check the flapper arm on the internal gate...i'm not sure

found a potential reason why its boosting that high..well i popped the hood and noticed my mass air flow sensor was out ( i just punched a whole into the rubber fitting that connects the charge pipe to the throttle body) so while that was just hanging theres a nice hole in the rubber coupling and more air is flowing in and out..can this cause the boost go all the way up to 10psi ?

Youve got a hole in your charge pipe causing a leak. Air is escaping through that hole so the boost pressure shoots higher to compensate for lost pressure. Id close up the hole and check you again to see if your going over 5.5psi.

do you really get to utilize the full potential of boost when you cant rev past say 4000 or so?

go to level ten and get a better torque converter....but as far as your boost problem sounds crazy....
