Hondata Tuning in Nor. CA
Looking for a good Hondata tuner in Northern CA. I was thinking about DSR (Dyno Spot Racing in San Jose, CA.)
Has anybody had any experience with them or someone else in this area? Please post your experience here.
Also looking for a suggestion on injector size.
Setup consists of:
B16a2 fully built block, stock head w/skunk manifold, and JG throttle body.
Turbo T3/T04E 60 trim 13-15psi
Walbro fuel pump
AEM fuel rail/ AEM FPR
And a bunch of other stuff, but that's the basic setup.
WHP will probably be around 350-400... I was thinking RC 440's saturated. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I took my car there (DSR) for dynoing/tuning and love the service and professionality. Also they explained everything to me. They know how to tune a street car. I woul recommend them.
I have yet to tune my car at DSR, but I have purchased two Hondata systems from them. I'm just waiting to finish my setup. Lawrence at DSR is very good at explaining things to you. I will definetly go back to get my hondata tuned by them!
I've talked to Dynamic Motorsports, and I didn't get a good feeling about them. They weren't very good at explaining things to me over the phone. Maybe it was just the person I talked too.

does dsr really do partial throttle tuning?
I seen a car tuned by dsr (hondata turbob16 350whp) full throttle tuned only, and his car barely idled because it was running so rich. The car had to be re-tuned.

i wouldn't be surprised if he does. Henry has tuned MANY types of engine management systems from Hondata to AEM EMS to A'PEXi Power FC to GReddy E-manage to my AFC hack setup. he's a skilled tuner.

I dont mean to hate on dsr, my advise is just make sure they not only do wot tune but partial throttle tune on your car as well. Is it still $185/hour to tune your car at dsr?

best is to call dsr up and ask them. Usually best time to call them is in the morning. anytime after that they just let the phones ring and dont answer them. just leave a message and hope they call you back.
OR
you can come to this seminar and learn how to tune on your own doing partial throttle. there are dynos in the bay area that only cost 100 an hour. if you do over 3 hours of tuning with dsr, you would break even by doing this event

I would not go to Lawrence. he did a botch job for me and some other customers. I would not pay 185.00 for just WOT tuning. there is no way you can tune a car well on just WOT. I would go and search elsewhere. if he tells you he can do it on dyno only he is conning you and or lazy and does not want to do street tuning. he does not even use the datalogging he just uses the wideband in the tailpipe and that is not accurate. i know he has made some fast cars but that does not mean he is doing it correctly. drag racing #'s are not the only thing to look for.
