Default how to save an engine from boost?

About to FI my H23a, and probably run 8-10 PSI.
I know its not all that high, but it's done a few miles, and i want to keep it as a daily driver for many years to come...

So whats the best way to go. The turbo kit I am looking at has the option of a MSD Boost Timing master or a new rIdeal Head Gasket.

Which is the safer option? Consider that I am already running it on no less than 98 octane unleaded.
Having said that, I am thinking the Head Gasket, and then if I still get knocking, resleeve the block to 8.5:1.
Does that make ANY sense or am I talking crap??

Dont get it, how can an ECU prevent detonation? By altering the timing?- But then won't I be losing HP? and isnt that what the MSD does anyway?

what mike is trying to say is that a tunable ecu is your best safe gaurd. in the world of boost Tunning is EVERYTHING. if you build and ok setup and have a crappy managment system your car won't last long. But you build it ok and have a well done conservitive tune your car could last much longer.

from whati know the MSd just retards the timing for each pound of boost. but with a tunable ecu you can do all that and more.

Get the headgasket and a Hondata and tune that mo fo. If you have the money sleeving the block and getting low compression pistons would definetely help
