Default look for info on building a indestructable d16a6!???

anyone know any good sites or articles about building a d16a6 block?? all i really have experience with is valvetrain, forced induction, but not much about block internals...

i want to build a nearly indestructable d16a6 block, close to stock compression though because i'm think i'm going FI down the road and want to guarantee that i'm not going to blow the thing up boosting around 10-15psi.

what parts am i going to need to do so...sleeves, pistons, rings, rods, etc. what sort of setup would you guys recommend.?

check out http://www.cryoscience.com they basically freeze your stuff and it makes the metal stronger, pretty much bullet proof. i had a buddy of mine he had his whole motor cryo'd and he ran 16psi of boost, his boost spiked at the track and hit well over 25 the turbo actually blew apart and didnt damage anything to his internals (stock dohc zc internals)

build it right if you plan on doing it.

but ive seen many people doing 15lbs using stock bottom end, and just using turbo headgaskets, and higher heat rated valves. just make sure and get the damn thing dynoed so you can assure that everything is running perfect and you should not have any problems

derek

well.... just get pistons, rods, and get the block sleeved. it should handle well up to 25psi. check out

since this seems to be more of a boost related question, you might want to try the Fi forum. i can move this thread for you if you want, just shoot me an IM.

but anyways, some low comp. pistons, forged rods and a sleeved block should be very stout for 15 psi. i think that would be a sick motor.

didnt you just have your motor swapped because you were poor and in debt?

if you want a indestructable block you need to get some aebs sleeves, you can run up to 60lbs of boost and they still wont crack, then after that, get some je pistons, crower rods, rod bearings, get the head ported and polished and get some titanium retainers and valve springs, find a good cam, and cam gear, next would be fuel, depending on how much boost, you could start out with some 550 injectors, a 255liter fuel pump, and a golden eagle fuel rail, from there you need some kind of engine management, since your keeping the dseries block i recommend the zdyne gold, then last but not least a turbo kit, id get a t3/t4, a big intercooler, 2 1/2 inch charge and intercooler piping, a 3 inch downpipe with a electric cut out, then a fluidyne radiator, and a flex a lite fan, of course then your gonna need some suspension work to put the power to the ground, z10 bars and some tein or tanabe sustec pro coilovers
