Default Alright, stupid, easy rookie question here ....... sorry!

Did a search, didn't get the answer I wanted ......

I'm buying a short ram for the B16A swap I plan on doing into my '90 hatch.

I thought I would need to get the Del Sol DOHC VTEC short ram model since it is basically the same motor, but let me know if this is right!!

Oh, I don't want a CAI for it, and I am getting a pretty good deal on the AEM short ram, so I just want to know what model to get, no personal intake preferances please.

you need the intake for the model car you have...... 90 civic right.

i got a 95 civic with a b18b and i used my old cold air intake from the dx motor.

im going to have to disagree with that. you buy the intake for the engine, not the car. ill give you an example as to why. i have a 2k-hatch. if i were to put a b16 in my car and then buy an intake for the car i wouldnt be able to use it. the intake manifold on the d16y7 in my car has a vertical intake manifold. the throttle body faces up and the intake curves and attaches to the top. the intakemanifold for the b16 faces sideways. therefore, the intake wouldnt fit.
another example. if you had, oh say, a 98 civic ex with an intake you could probably use that intake again if you put a b16 in your car because the intake manifolds are in relatively the same position BUT if you were to put a b18c1 in your car then you wouldnt be able to use that intake because the intake manifold is different than the b16's. it sits lower behind the engine. the intake comes from the front and drops down in the back where the intake for the ex just runs at the same level all the way back.

peace,
brian

dude go buy a 94-00 gsr/89-00civic ex,si/delsol si,vtec/teg LS, any of those intakes would work. i had a 95 teg ls motor with a 98 intake manifold, and a 00 gsr injen intake in my 98 hatch and it worked fine.
