spoon engines
i was just visiting their site and noticed they sell complete engines. whats the scoop on these? do they have every engine component spoon makes? how expensive are they? are they legal? i can seem to find too much info on their sight. but i can imagine one of their b16b's would one powerful son of a bitch if its all built up with their components.

Re: spoon engines (broke)
just a blueprinted, tuned, motors uses spoon cams, gasket and few other parts which they offer, comes in in different compression levels and power outputs, also they offer stroked b16b's ....imho they are way overpriced, if you want a crate motor visit your acura dealer get a ITR for about $6500 .....
spoon motors are as legal as JDM motors, they are about $8000-10000+

Here is what my friend told me before:
"Spoon's engine are normal B18C engine which the stock B18C pistons, rods and crankshaft have been balanced (weight). The valvetrain is pretty much STOCK as well.Basically, this is a Spoon assembled blueprinted stock B18C engine.
Spoon claims their B18C CR 11.3:1 engine is pretty much like stock and the work that has been done is to make the STOCK B18C engine performs better then any USDM engines or Honda built engines.
$8000 for a Brand NEW engine ,transmission and other components !!!do you think you can get one from the dealer
assembled????
I think this fellow with this stock Spoon 1.8L engine should be happy since the stock engine can pull 123 lbs of torque!!!"
Well I don't think it will be legal if u're in California. If u're in other places with less requirement on Air Care laws try to get an OBD2 spec ECU and cat converter when u go for the emission test. It should work I guess.
They have B16B 1800cc 11.3:1 CR, B18C-R 1800cc 11.3:1CR and hi CR B18C-R 1800cc 11.7:1 available at http://www.spoonsports.ca the official webpage of SPOON Sports in North America.
For further info and price enquiry u can contact Ben at info@aj-racing.com

Re: spoon engines (spnhb)
If I had the money for a Spoon motor... I woudnt get it anyway. Its nice and all for that money you could build your own with a turbo set up.

Re: spoon engines (CRX_VTEC)
SPOON IS THE ****!! HAHA. It is very expensive ****. Actually, Honda of Japan builds most of the stuff for Spoon, so you know you're getting good ****. Spoon designs and specs it, and Honda builds it. Their all aluminum oil pan is over $2000!!!! Their little parts are very nice, and some what affordable, but their are other JDM companies out there that are just as good. Both TODA and SPOON have B16's that rev past 12,000RPM. Yes, that isn't a typeo either. I would imagine Mugen has one too. So, it's really good high quality ****, but I'm a JDM man myself, so of course it's good ****! HAHA. Just build it yourself, you'll learn more and have fun doing it. Plus it's cheaper. One more thing you have to remember, is most if not all of the Spoon engines don't include a tranny or axles.

4 grand will get you into 13's., 5 grand will get you a built block with proper fuel and ecu management and will get you into daily driven twelves, just hope you can fence the gas money for a turbo car. and always remember never to shut a turbo engine off when your done driving always let it sit and idle for a few minutes.
