Octane booster............??
ok, right now i'm running a 75 shot direct port on pump gas (91 octane). i'm gonna up the jets to 100 shot and need to know what kinda gas to run. do i need to actually use race gas or can i use an octane booster on pump gas. and if i need race fuel does it have to be pure or can it be mixed with the pump gas?
All too often you get answers like 'do a search first!", but, I actually read a cool article recently about using Xylene or Toluene as octane boosters -- complete with recipies and estimated octane.
I've also seen propane kits, since propane has a high octane also... so perhaps that is an option.
Both are worth investigating.
Luck,
Mark
on my friends kit we ran 103 octane from vp race fuels we just emptied out the pump gas with a siphon and then ran the car around the parking lot of the track until it died. then put in the new 103. and let me tell you that running a honda out of gas takes a while.
search for the article on this (google)
you should be fine mixing your own with Toluene or Xylene (better of the two).
as for the octane rating...listen for detonation and you'll know you need more.

He only needs stock injectors with a wet kit. You need bigger injectors with a 100 shot if you are running a dry kit like I am.
