Octane Booster, Does it work?
Any of you all use Octane booster...last night I used a whole bottle of off-road NOS formula octane booster for only 3 gallons of gas..Sounds like a waste but the car ran pretty good..Is there anyway of actually measuring octane? It says it'll raise octane up to 7 points..also do the ingredients mix well w/ gas...I mean will it dilute in the gas or will it be how water mixes w/ oil(it doesn't)...
Anyways..what are you all experiences and is it even worth it?

it helps and you're better safe than sorry. but if you are able to get race gas or any gas higher than the pityful 91 octane we got here in CA, then you shouldnt even worry. here in CA, i try to run it occasionally. Every 3 tanks of gas just to be safe.

A friend of mine is a Sr. chemical engineer for chevron. I asked him the very same question. He said that there is no governmental regulations on the "claims" made by the octane booster manufacturers. Therefore they can Say that it will increase octane 200 points even if it really doesn't. Overall he said that the cost certainly outweighed the (minimal if any) gains. You'd be better off spending that money on injector cleaner instead.
