When I try and shift to third gear hard now it wont let me in unless I force it in and that requires more time. There for I cant shift that fast from 2nd to 3rd. It never grinds, it just doesnt wont to go in. What the problem here, shift linkages?

 

I had that problem and I dont remember if it was the time I was missing a clip that held the linkage secure on top of the tranny or if it was the time when the linkage was cracked. Check out both.

 

possible tranny failure? this could be the beginning of your tranny going dead.

 

well just a guess but I dont think its my interals in the tranny cause I very rarley grinds gears, Ive never done it bad. I think it might be my linkages, what all do I have to take off and check if so?

 

The first place to check is where the linkage makes its turn to head over to the tranny right behind the block near the rear engine mount. That is where mine was cracked.
