Default Tranny problems

Alright here is the situation......I just got mycar back from the salvage yard and I tried to shift it into gear and it is extremely hard to get it into gear.

I then took out the role pin from the shift linkage to try and find out if it is just my shift linkage thatis bent from the forklift moving it around. I then tried to shift it with just putting a screwdriver in the hole and it went into every gear but I had to force it in it seemed. is thisn normal orshould it just glide in if their is no linkagte on it.

Also is their a way to fixthis if the shif for is bent.....I meen is their an inexpencive way to fix this without cracking the tranny or bringing it to a tranny shop.

thanks for the help

oh its aB16a2 in a 92 hatch with a cable YS1 tranny.

Why was it on the forklift?

Your tranny should be okay. It takes a bit of force to shift the tranny with a screw driver. I do this all the time when I am checking trannies I build.

You may need to straighten out your shift linkage if you can. The shift linkage is mild steel so it won't be too hard to bend.
