Default over 100mph for over an hour

The title says what i was doing at a friends house who's got more acres than anyone should have. but the problem was probably after about an hour and a half everything went to **** and im pretty sure that my valve cover gasket blew (rad fluid was clean and oil was on the exhaust mani, intake mani, and dizzy). when im going 100mph and im in 5th im at about 5000rpm. The week before i just installed a new camshaft and i reused the gasket...i made sure everything was clean and all. So is this a common problem or just a "you didn't replace the gasket so you got f'ed" situation? Its still just a stock sohc ZC but after i build her up its going to be screaming to go well over 100mph and if the oil pressure its going to blow the gasket after a while i'll need to figure something out.

P.S. Sorry if its not coherent i've been driving for 9 hours. P.S.S. Charlotte rocks!
P.S.S.S. I'll have pics tomorrow. You're gunna love this

I dont believe the head is even really pressurized at all, pull the valve cover and check out the gasket. Can you tell at all where the oil is coming from because it sounds like it's every where.

hold on a second, are you saying your friend has so much land that you can drive for over 100mph for over an hour on his property? This isnt in a straight line is it?

nah the guy's got 60 acres of land. and as for the other comment about going 100 for minutes there were times when i was going less sure. but it was between 80-105mph the whole way. One tank, when i was done i had less than a quarter tank left. Only gas guzzling part about it is the acceleration. once i got up to 100 i was at 26% throttle, not to mention i took my time getting up to 100, i definately didn't floor it.

unfortunately it is possible.
the most i have done was on interstate 5 SD-LA 110 for about 45 minutes.
used to cut my travel time from my ex girl to home to about 1.5 hours from usual 2.5-3...
now, ask me why i can't drive for another three days (has it been a month already?!)

When i had the car running it looked like it was bubbling around the valve cover gasket. I checked the block but i really didn't see any signs of the head gasket being blown. Ohh and it is everywhere. Its like someone took a water baloon and filled it with oil and landed right on the top of my engine head. its on the hood the firewall, completely covering the tranny.
Is it ok to use high pressure water to clean out my engine bay?

well technically, if you use an 1/8th tank in 10 minutes you would only use 3/4 (6/8th) of a tank in 60 minutes
i'm sure he was going in circles, but i'd get bored awfully fast

BACK ON TO TOPIC, let's help this guy out. Yes there are ways to clean your engine bay with pressurized water, search for cleaning engine bay. You might want to be careful because water and oil don't mix so you might just spread it around and make a larger mess. I honestly dont see how a vavle cover gasket could make such a mess, anyone?

cam seal coulda took a dump. so many things could of happened.
valve cover gasket can leak. but it leaks not sprays. there is slight pressure. have u ever tried puttin oil in while the car is running?

clean the area. and try to reproduce it. check during of course and see if its jus slight leak or what.

if it is everywhere, you blew a seal or a pressurized oil passage is leaking/busted. does your friend have a gigantic circle track on his property? i don't get it.............

edit- oh, i see you have a 4wd wagon, thats f-ing awesome. you probably jarred something loose if you were rally-style racing. i would guess the oil filter baseplate/cooler?

Sounds like Blowby from bad rings... WHen pressurized, the bottom end can cause the valve cover gasket to blow out completely.. I did this at 8psi with 2 burned pistons on my first turbo buildup.

well i cleaned up everything, i think i broke some ring lands on one pistons, just the way it sounds. The oil is coming out of where the dizzy connects to the head. Do i need to honda-bond the area where that one metal piece that goes right over the dizzy/camshaft connection?

If its coming from your dizzy, then it sounds like its the O-ring thats on the dizzy's shaft that plugs into the cam. Thats pretty typical. Go to HONDA and get a new one....its only a few bucks. Dont forget to mark the dizzy's position before u remove it, that way u dont have to set the timing. No honda bond is necessary.

Easy, I go from Knoxville, TN - South Bend, IN with an average speed of 105-110. I get the same gas mileage, yes, it is wierd. Not hard to maintain that speed.
