New With Questions
Hi been reading boards for a few week and found alot very good info. I really liek the thread on wee yall have bought motors from that was a great idea.
So now my question. I have a 88 CRX Si and havent did anything to the motor. What I want to know is what is the best motor to put in if I want to get serious HP. I will go turbo so take that into account. I will be coming into a good sum of money due to an injury so the money will be there. Also does IAS do actual swaps or do they just sell the engines.
Thanks alot and again this is the most helpful board Ive found

How much hp is serious hp to you? Does the car still need to be streetable? or is it going to be a race only car? If you will have the funds, then my suggestion would be a fully built B-series motor. Built to handle boost, along with a fortified valvetrain.
Streetable yes. Serious to me is as much as possible while staying streetable. I mean I definately dont want one of these 210-270hp brand new cars off the lot leaving me at the light. What B series has the best potential with turbo and all out HP.
thanks

You can't just say you want to be fast. You have to give yourself a goal. 13s? 12s? 11s? Why do you want to be that fast? You do realize that a stock B18C in a CRX would probably be able to run mid to high 13s?
These new cars with 210-270 horses coming out also weigh half as much as a tank in most cases. Horsepower is only important when you compare it to the amount of weight that needs to be moved.
