Default is the age/high mileage of my block a problem when i rebuild?

i've got 153k miles, & I plan on rebuilding with arias 9:1 pistons, GE rods & an inlinepro blockguard this fall. my goal is 350 whp on pump gas, with the hondata s200 w/ boost & new valvesprings & retainers to allow a higher revlimit.

will the age of my block be any problems? metal fatigue, etc etc? anything I'm not thinking of?

no, not at all..... there is a member on this board who had a gsr motor with 140K+ and just a headgasket went 11.30's I believe... Tore it down, slapped some pistons and rods in (stock 140k+ sleeves) and went mid 10's.

Check the all the bearings and journals of the crank and rods to make sure they're smooth and have no scarring. Have a machine shop check the crank if you're not sure what to look for. The sleeves will probably have to be overbored .010"-.020" to clean them up but that's pretty standard. I rebuilt my old LS motor with close to 140k on the clock and it's running like a champ.

cool. yea im planning on going .020 overbore, & i'll be replacing all the journals/bearings as well as microolishing the crank.

is there a limit to how high the internals of the motor can rev? most people only have to upgrade the valvetrain, but when does the bottom end become unstable?

FYI you can get a complete crank kit for $250 from standard crank.
This includes bearings for rods & mains. just need to send them your core.

maybe have a machine shop line hone your mains for $125 while your at it.

Then go .020 over and the bottom end will be just like new

I think that's a better route to go over micropolishing your crank and then matching bearings to it.

as far as how high you can go on an LS RPM wise I wouldn't go over 8K.
But that's just me.

good luck with the build.

that's basically it for the most part. if there is not major damage to the crank journals and sleeves, then all you have to do is overbore/hone the sleeves and get the new, proper sized bearings. then gap the rings and assemble everything to spec.
