I always use stock. As far as the ACL bearing, my machinst thinks they are the best bearing he has ever seen and we have never had a problem with them. Plus they are less than half the price of stockers

With today's machining tolerances the bearings you use don't really make a damn bit of difference. I know I am gonna catch alot of flak for that statement but it's true.

I've used ACL, Clevite & OEM they all meet the spec that they are supposed to.
If you wanna get some silly precicion you can plastigauge everything then order OEM bearings that will give you EXACTLY a .0015 oil clearance on every main.
Personally I don't give a **** if I have a .0008 variance.

As far as a honda crank, there is none better. Plenty of people go up to and PAST 500WHP on a stock crank. They are Forged and will take all the abuse you can throw at them.

the stock Honda crank can handle quite a bit of power before giving out. and the OEM bearings are what i use. just gauge them as close to .0015 for the #1, 2, 4 and 5 main journals as was mentioned and you should be fine. and .0017 for the #3 main. that's close to the middle of the clearance range, just a hair tighter than the middle. as long as the journal surfaces are good then just carefully clean them up. if the motor is really high mileage some of the journals may be out-of-round, but most likely not.

i've heard from most that ACL and Clevite bearings are just as good as the OEM.
