My car is hesitating under normal driving, no hesitation under boost, can you help??
whats up guys, just trying to troubleshoot here,,, heres the setup, 93 hatch/98gsr motor/DRAGG gen 3,,, i got an msd 6al, rc310's, holley hp pump and FPR, sti rail, vortech fmu 8:1 disc in it, fuel pressure at about 40 psi at idle, slightly rough idle,... now heres the weird part, while driving around daily, in vacuum the car sounds like its misfiring,,, so i replaced the rotor, just to make sure check all cylinders for spark, plugs were a bit rich though,,, checked the fuel pump,, everything. the hesitation is not bad at all it just sounds like the car is burping at low rpm,,, under boost the car rips! no break up no problems at all,,, i also just replaced the missing link (new one) i am getting no CEL's at all.. dont know whats causing it i am always running 93 or 94 octane in this thing too,,, i was told that my injectors could be bad, but wouldnt i get a CEL for that?? i am using obd1 clips for the RC's,,, rc said that was fine, so i dont know, can somebody make some suggestions?? some people were also saying i could be running extremely rich as well, i dont know let me know what you think...... thanks oh yeah im only running about 8 psi right now too......
thats what im thinking, but could it be related to the injector? i mean is ther any way to make sure the injector drivers are functioning properly?? also i got the 8 to 1 disc in the fmu,,, i thought that was a bit lean?? i dont know, any other suggestions?
does it feel really hesitant at partial throttle? my friends rex does the same thing with stock si injectors and a 12:1. its perfect under boost(12:1 across the board, the A/F that is) but boggy as hell. i would get something like an safc to tool around with and get it perfect.
yeah actually is is hesitant under partial throttle,,, i was thinking about putting in the 12:1 disc in the fmu just to see,,,, i mean i had this same setup on another motor and the only time the car hesitated is in transition from vacuum to boost, but it was slight,,, i dont know let me know anything else
you expect you car to run perfect on part throttle with a FMU!!!! hahahha thats funny.................be glad it even runs right when boosting. you want your car to run like a stock turbo car that takes $$$$$$, a EMS, a dyno and a good tuner.
i dont expect it to run perfect at all, with the POS fmu, but the thing is it ran fine before, i can live with boggs from vacuum to boost until i get hondata, but it never bogged outside of boost,,,,, the motor has completely stock internals, with everything i listed above I ran 12.50 @ 109 at about 9-10 psi, (deltagate was spiking, POS) on a 13" bogart with a 22" slick, and no tuning,,, to me thats pretty impressive, the setup was a consistant mid 12 second car in the vx shell i had, i dont like the fmu but its doing the job until Hondata,,,, any other comments about my current problems though??? thanks

It's definately the 310cc and fmu disc. My buddy's car did the same thing. The injectors are a tad bit too big off boost and the fmu which is causing your car to hesitate. When your car was running fine before, did you have the same 310cc injectors and 8:1 fmu? Paul
what are the plugs gapped at? I get that "burp" when im in VAC too, never boost. And i even get CEL lights 71-74 Misfires, so Im thinking Im way rich and theres extra fuel being dumped ini the cyc causing the mis. I changed the cap and rotor, plugs, my injectors are seated fine so Im thinking Im rich as heck, BTW Greddy Blue Box, Hondata goes in sometime in May.
