Tearing apart a t3?

Default Tearing apart a t3?

If anyone has directions to taking apart a t3 turbo that be awesome...because the one we have we cant get the bolts out because they are captured between the catridge and exhuast housing....thanks

id like to know as well, ive been trying to get to these bolts forever. also knowing they are rusted on probably dont help either.

PB Blaster and/or a torch. You do not need to back the bolt completely out if one is trapped. Just get it loose enough to allow you to rotate the center section enough to get it completely out.

yea, u might have to pound on it a little if its older, cuz they get rusty!!!!! i just tore mine apartr a few days ago

yea i ran into that problem too when i tried taking it apart....what u do is rotate the exhaust housing so that the bolt head is not goin to touch the oil in/outlet flange. thats it

ya, i had an extra turbo kickin around os i took a huge *** hammer to it and figured out it rotates...thanks for the help!

loosin all the bolts so you can turn the cartridge, then take out the ones that are free from being blocked and keep turning the cartridge til you get all of them out...I know it's a pain...just rebuilt one this weekend...all bead blasted free of carbon and new internals...its for sale too...so if anyone needs a T3..hit me up...asking $200...yeah I know that it belongs in the classifieds....blah blah...but since t3's were on the subject I figured Id mention it
