Scratching Fifth
Recently I have had a problem with my fifth gear shift. Everytime I shift into it makes a loud scratching sound as if it was still spinning when I put it in. I kind of got rid of it by double clutching but after a while it gets anoing. I would ride in fourth since rarly I need fifth for speed, but with the Fast and The Furious out so many punk kids got pigs eyes open wide for the imports and my R is a eye opener with the B18C. So if anyone has the same problem or has fixed it i would like the feed back. Thanks
Wow, when I first read that I thought you were going to say you could "scratch" the shift from 4th to 5th...
I haven't heard of this problem before, but you should make sure that the clutch is all the way in when you are trying to shift. I know it sounds dumb, but since you use fifth gear the least, maybe you aren't quite getting the timing right. If you're sure that isn't the problem, then you should take the car in to have it looked at.

I thought this thread was about scratching filth!?...j/k, how many miles on your car? Sounds like the synchro (sp?) for fifth gear is shot. I'd sugggest having it checked asap, before you do any more damage to the gears...
