my new suspension rapes me
got new shocks and springs the other day, and ever since then, the rear passenger side suspension has been banging around and making really bad klunking noises, ive gone back and tightened everything, and it still makes the noise. what i did notice though is that the bushing on top of that shock and the pin that sticks out of the shock tower is much taller than the one on the other side. does this mean that the shock is blown? i need to know if i should just get new shocks, or if the problem can be remedied. this is my only car and i dont want to keep driving it to work like this. thanks.
check to see if the spring is settled properly on the spring seat. the cut outs of the seat are supposed to be installed facing towards the front of the car.

if one of the shok tower bolts are longer than the other than i could be that you have a loose bolt tighten both bolts to the spec or as much as you can
the chances are one of the bolts is loose and the shock tower is jumping in there

it seems to me that the longer pin would indicate a tighter bolt, but the longer pin belongs to the shock that is shaking... i dont know, thats why im asking
Most likely your struts came up through the mount because it was loose. Loosen everything up, pull it down so it sits properly and then retighten everything. It may, as this is what I had to do with my AGX's, be beneficial to use 2 nuts on the top of the strut. Also, did you make sure to cut your bumpstops?

make sure the top nut is tightened down. one must be loose if its higher up. My front coillovers started making that noise and i tightened down that top nut and its good

None of you guys are correct... sorry
The shock will appear to stick up higher if you do not install the 2 washers underneath the upper shock mount. You install the bumpstop onto the shock rod, then install the washer that sits on the part of the shock rod where it tapers down, then install the dust cover, then the other washer on top of that. Then you install the spring and finally the upper spring seat on top of everything. If you don't put those 2 washers on, the shock rod will push up through the upper mount and cause all kinds of bad noises.

Correct, shock washers own you. They keep the shock from coming up though the top hat. Just take it apart and see if everything was installed correctly.
