Default squeaking when coming to a stop/taking off

I had my radio down recently, and notced that when I was coming to a stop, I heard a squeaking noise coming from the front of the car. It sounded like a squeaky bike wheel. Then when I was taking off, I heard the same thing. My front rotors are a bit warped. Could it be that they are rubbing on the pads? That's the only thing that I could think of. Any help would be appreciated.

BTW: I checked everything external, which included lug nut tightness, air pressure, etc.

warped rotors probably mean worn pads.....they'll squeak even without the brakes on....just a indicator to let you know the pads are almost gone....

thanks for the quick reply, but it wasn't the high pitched squeal heard from metal scratching metal. It had a lower, more blunt tone. Also, when I am taking off, the exact same sound can be heard, so it's not worn pads... any other thoughts?

If you had to guess...

Does the noise stop when you reach a certain speed?
Are you sure it's stopping, or could it just be that the road noise drowns it out?

i have the same problem..or it makes the noise when i am just driving real slow in a parking lot..i think it has somethig to do with my suspension i think my shocks are bad..or the coilovers i got are crappy so that might be it..but i get the noise when i am stopping or just getting ready to go or when i'm driving real slow and i hit a little bump..its coming from my left front..hard to explain what the noise is but its like a squeaking noise

It stops when I am above about 15 mph. I used to be a mountain biker, and when my rims got bent and would rub against the wheel, it almost made the same noise as my car is making. When I would get going pretty fast on my bike, the noise would stop, but it would still be rubbing. I'll probably just replace my front rotors. They're warped anyway. I'll let you guys know if that fixes it. Thanks for the replies.
