Default help-rear suspension problem

Hey there,
I am having some problems:
does anybody have a setup that is close or same- H&R sport w/ Bilstein shocks (they are the ones that yellow)
the bilstein shocks are non adjustable (they adjust by road condition themselves like a regular shock).

I did my own install
front is fine
but the back is the one that is giving me the trouble.

WHen i hit a bump n all, it goes BANG BANG..soundslike the wheel/tired is hitting my chassis or something. The ride is really stiff..
I don't know what it could be.

Whether:
1) spring rate is not good for the rear shocks, i think spring rate for H&R sport is 220 all the way around i think
2) bolts are not tight (which really can't be)
3) the spring is compressed a lot n there is no travel (i gunned down the nut that holds the hub part of the spring w/ shock assembly)
4) i busted the shock already

please advise if u got anything?
thanks in advance

Sounds like the spring isnt all the way in the lower cup. If its not in the right position on the strut it will make noise like that. Jack the car up and look at it.

2) bolts are not tight (which really can't be)
This happened with my coilovers, the guy cross-threaded the top bolt on one of my rears and it was banging around constantly. I had to buy a new shock.
