Default d16y7 bottom end- d16y8 head (mini-me)

well i have a stock DX motor about 70000 miles on it and i am thinking about upgrading what i got and doing a mini me i found a full EX head for 200 bucks with about 50000 miles complete with manifold and sensor but my question is i heard that it will raise my compression to like a 10.2.1 or something like that.

well i want to go turbo and i am just thinking that if this does up my compression how or what would i need to do to say run a apex turbo kit intercooled with cams valves springs and retainers. and for bottom end rods and pistons.

like would i jsut get lower compression pistons or how would i go about this or would a mini me swap not work good with a turbo set up?

well it depends. you can go high comp with turbo and you dont have to boost as much to get the same output as a low comp turbo, but it is a lot harder to pull off.you could just get low comp pistons. or you could leave it high and get a really good fuel management. in the end it all goes down to what you want to run with the car. what times do you want or what are you tring to accomplish. but anyway if you are going to just run a turbo and build the head anyway ( cam, valves, ect.) then you dont need to get a y8 head on it. youll be plenty fast.

if you are going to drop in a cam and valves might as well get a p&p. then get the turbo and play with the boost until you get where you want to be. but make sure you manage your fuel responsibly no matter what you end up doin. keep the mani it works way better than yours
