I currently have a b16asir2 motor with a jackson racing supercharger, and a endyne upgraded pulley, but i blew my head gasket, since this has happened, i order arp head bolts, a block guard, and now i need a new head gasket. What companies make a head gasket that will drop my compression ratio to maybe like a 9.4:1? the motor is 10.4:1 right now. So i was wondering what u guys think i should set the new ratio to and where i can get a new gasket with the recommended specs, thanks very much.

 

Figuring with standard bore you go up ~0.25:1 for every 0.010" you take off... It goes the opposite too... You would need to add about 0.040" to a stock headgasket to drop a full point... I personally don't like playing with the compression via a headgasket... You add that onto the OE 0.029" and you're at around 0.070"... The only way I like to go low compression is with new pistons... It DOES cost a lot more... You can get a Cometic headgasket for ~$80... Forged JE 9.0:1 81.50mm slugs and overboring the block with run you ~$600.... Just the way I would do it tho... Peace
EDIT: I forgot to ask, how much are you boosting now?? with a stock sleeved bottom end and 9.0:1 slugs you can safetly boost ~14lbs.. I don't work with supercharges that much because I really don't like them, they are too inefficient... Turbo!!!

what is the thickness of a stock head gasket?? for a b16asir2, and yes it is stock bore

 

I think oem is 0.030" (someone correct me if wrong)

so how much thicker, would u go if u didnt have 600 bucks, but u had enough to buy a cometic head gasket? the pulley is rated at 8-10lb. so what do u guys think?

 

Personally if you even going to mess with your C/R i would go with a 1mm, ~0.040" headgasket... It'll put you right below a B16A with PR3 slugs at ~10.15:1 and you'll be fine with that and 8-10lbs of boost... Latez

I checked my oil cap everything was white, and my dip stick was white, i didnt put in the IAC so people told me cause of that i blew my head gasket. but i dont know what could be EXACTLY wrong
