Jackson Racing supercharger noise?
A friend of mine has a JRSC and it makes a sound similar to trasmision bearings goin bad. It doesnt sound good. But it was just refurbished by JR. Is this a common thing with them? Im just curious.
its probly normal. if there are problems with the gearing behind the pulley, that would be bad. but the thing makes some funny grinding noises during normal operation. when accelerating hard it should sound like a power drill on crack.

Exact description!!!
Gets quieter at idle when warm. Sounds great after a nice long drive.

Mine makes some odd noises at idle but there isn't any play in it and it rotates like buttah. I think its just the normal eaton blower noise.

This is old but...mine makes a weird noise after i shut the ignition off. Like air is being squeezed out somewhere. Like a "skeeeeeeeerrtt" its weird.
Btw: just installed it havent had any time to mess with it since its started raining..but anyone have this problem? would vacum lines cause this noise?

Typical JRSC response: "Check the belts!" Those things stretch in a few thousand miles and make weird noises when they are loose (or too tight).
yeah...its not the belts it just sounds like air gets trapped and needs to be pushed out. Like a whoopy cushion that doenst make the fart sound... hard to explain

That's a perfectly normal sound. Mine does the same thing. Just air that the blower was compressing when you shut off the motor.

Mine makes a super high pitched whining noise, like a bad bearing, but only at a certain throttle position. And only when cruising.
It sounds like when you dip your finger in water and run it around the rim of a crystal glass, if you know what I'm referring to.

Sorry to go off subject but it is so interesting how all of yall describe the sounds that your supercharger is making its funny...

damn I was about to say the same thing....haha can't we all agree on the same thing.. like it sounds like an electric screwdriver or something...
Well can all agree that it makes the Makita drill noise - that's under hard acceleration when your're boosting - that's normal.
I'm describing some other goofy noise it makes when I'm not boosting.

Try google, I remember I found an article about that same thing that some guy had his rebuilt by JR and it was making terrible noises after and the JR guys were being complete dicks about it.
I would send it to Endyn, they can work some magic on those blowers!!
