jrsc makes rough noise at idle
ok so, i installed a jrsc on my B18c5 about 3 months ago. the day it started up, at idle it kind of makes a grinding noise. i never thought anything of it, just thought it was normal. it went away right when i rev it up. well after a lil while i kinda started thinkin it wasnt good. i also heard there is oil in the sc.
does anyone know what this noise is and what its coming from and if it is normal. it sounds like a grinding kinda noise but it only does it at idle. any ideas?

It shouldn't grind, unless you got the belt way too tight and ruined the bearings. Some mechanical noise is made by the gears in the nose drive, and that will be more pronounced at idle.
There is oil in the SC, it has it's own oil in the nose drive.

Re: jrsc makes rough noise at idle (rmcdaniels)
when i tighten the belts i made them tight but deffinitly not super tight. and i mean i wish i could explain the noise better. If it were the bearings how come it only does it at idle

They all do make a noise at idle. I would pull it off and look at the veins and make sure the coating is still on there. If not you are probably tearing them up.
