This past weekend I was getting ready to do a valve adjustment on the gsr and what do I find.... when the crank is at TDC the cams are advanced (toward the radiator) 1 tooth. The cams and gears are stock but the block was replaced by a local Acura dealer. Since I have got the car back it runs okay but seemed to lack in the top end where as before the car really shined. I suppose my question is, would my car run okay and get good gas milage if the gears where improperly aligned or did the head get milled and they didn't tell me about it??

Hmmm I'm not exactly sure on this one, but I think there is more than one mark on the crank pulley, mainly the TDC mark, and the stock 16 deg. BTDC timing mark. Make sure you're lining up the correct one (I don't know which one that is though, sorry).

I lined up the proper mark. Yes there are 3 marks you use for ignition timing (14/16/18) then there is the white mark for TDC.
