Help setting my timing for 98GSR
Ok.. I'm setting my ignition timing, but I'm not sure what the marks on the crankpully mean.
1st top mark = 0BTC
top mark in grouping = 14BTC?
Center mark in grouping = 16BTC?
Bottom mark in grouping = 18BTC?
Is this right for a 98 GSR? or is this for some other car...?
If I were to retard 2 degrees, I am trying to set at 20BTC right?

No, if the factory spec is 16 plus or minus 2 degrees, to retard two degrees means timing is set to 14 degrees BTDC (the mark on your crank pulley closest to the TDC mark). More counterclockwise from TDC mark on crank pulley is more advanced.

Re: Help setting my timing for 98GSR (inspyral)
Ok, can I assume that even spaced markings (spacing between current markings)
will always be 2 degrees? SO if I was at the exact opposite side of the 0 BTC mark, I would be at 180 deg retard/advanced then...? (not that anyone would).
Then again, the crank turns 4 times for every turn of the cams right? So if I were to evenly space the markings on my crank pulley, there would be 90 marks?
