Default Honda VX oxygen sensor...

i currently have a 92 VX civic that i am putting a 95 LS engine into... my VX uses a 5 wire o2 sensor, while the teg only uses a 4 wire o2 sensor before the cadillac converter....my only problem is how would i wire the o2 to the ECU??? would i simply run the 4 wires directy to the ECU without using the harnesses supplied by the LS motor?? thanks in advance

1. yes i said cadillac (slang)

2. no you cannot have my $300 Honda o2 sensor for $10....it's amazing how much honda wants for these rare VX 5wire sensors...sorry bro

3. i still need some info on how to wire this 4wire o2 sensor into the p75 using LS engine harness and civic VX chassis harness...thanks

Its impossible to use that sensor on a P75 ecu unless u get some hardware to convert it all into a signal the ecu will be happy with, which costs about $100. diy-wb.com , tech-edge.com.au

no you misunderstood.....i have a 4-wire LS o2 sensor.....i know that it will mate onto the LS motor wiring, BUT, i need to know if the LS o2 wiring will mate onto the VX o2 chassis (motor to ecu) wiring...thanks

Well than you are **** out of luck. Noone makes hardware to convert regular o2 into wide band signals I have a spare OBD1 LS ecu i'll trade ya for your wb tho

Search might have found this, but heres my notepad from my post to this. I converted my system to 4wire for a mini-me.

okie, i found the setup, the yel/blk wire needs to get routed all the way to the ecu, at least i found it easier to do it that way, then it gets t'd into the yel/blk on A and the yel/blk on B at the ecu. The other 3 wires you can use ones from the VX harnes, you'll have to make your own plug setup though, or just hardwire them. I bought a 4 wire waterproof wiring harness from pepboys, both the male and female then rewired both sides at the old plug area.

Okie, for 4 wire the wires are this:
Grn/Wht 2
Wht 1
Orn/Blk
Yel/Blk

for 5 wire they are:
grn/wht 2
wht
wht/blu 2
orn
orn/blu 2
yel/blk
blk 1

Okie for the the other wires, take the 5wire yel/blk and that goes to the 4wire orn/blk, grn/wht 2 is the same on both 5wire and 4wire, and orn/blu 2 is the wht1 for the 4wire o2. IM me if you need any more info.

btw. the above colors are directly from the helms, some of those cables are routed inside the cable plug so you dont think, gee thats more than 5wires...

That may get your ecu to not throw a code, but Iseriouslly doubt that w il give the ecu the correct readings.

Well it wires it up the way its supposed to. And my car runs strong with no codes. Not in limp mode or anything. When dyno'd it was running lean, but I just needed to bump the fuel pressure up.

will this be the same for gsr swap into a 93 civic vx. thanks

I am racking my brain trying to figure out how to wire this 4 wire o2 sensor into the 5 wire harness on the vx. I actually counted 7 wires on the vx harness itself?

I dont know, my head hurts

Quoted from nsxmatt:

"I will make it simple for you. There are a couple of ways to do it.

1. Use a multimeter and do a continuity test between the 5-wire O2 sensor plug on the VX engine harness and the ECU plugs. Test each wire on the 5-wire O2 sensor plug to find its corresponding ECU pin location. Once you know the locations cut the 5-wire O2 sensor plug off and splice in a 4-wire O2 sensor plug.

2. Just get a 4-wire O2 sensor plug and run the wires directly to the ECU.

yel/blk - A25 - 12V switched
org/blk - A6 - O2 heater control
grn/wht - D22 - sensor ground
wht/red - D14 - O2 signal wire."
