I finished the installation of my hex's today. All I can say is oh my god. These things are incredible. I have not completed the install of my midbasses yet.

I was enjoying listening to them so much that I killed my battery, and my friend had to go buy me some jumper cables That JL amp can suck some power.

I found things in the music I tested that I had not known was there. With my rap they performed adequately, even though they are hurting for midbass. Vocals are excellent. Santana brought chills to my spine at volume. This rarely happens.

The only downside is that you can easily damage yourself with these. They play high volumes effortlessly. You don't realize how loud it really is.

Now I need an long drive to get acquainted with these.

Did you dynamat the doors?? It makes a world of difference. Also ensure that there's a good seal between the mid and the door (make the door an enclusure and they'll thump nicely)

 

I dynamatted the q-forms. The midbass is sitting in my trunk, in the box right now I am going to try to work on them today. I do need to dynamat the car though. That will probably be my next project.

 

if you want even better sound, get rid of those POS q-forms, i had a set and hated them with a passion. get a set of custom kick panels, better sound garenteed (sp?)

Custom kicks are expensive. I may do it once my system is completed though. The qforms were my first kicks. I did not know if I would be able to live with them or not, so I did not want to spend a bundle on them.

 

just use the q-forms as a mold to make your own pods.
