Door speaker clearance
Can I use a 3/4 wood spacer ontop of the plastic spacer in a g3 teg and still get the panel back on? The damn terminals on the kickers are hitting the edge of the door and preventing me from installing it. I got 1.5 inch screws, now I need another half inch just to test
If it will not make it I guess I will have to pick up some snips.

I did that with my DEI's on my civic, but the speakers hit the door panel when the volume is up. I have a layer of RAAMmat and rubber undercoating on the panel though (maybe 1/4") You might be able to mod the door panel alittle. Good luck.
Edit: Could you use maybe 1/4" or 1/2"?

Did you use just a 3/4 inch wood spacer or did you put another spacer on top of the factory one. Tonight I will measure the terminals. I think a 1/4 or 1/2 spacer will work. Back to home depot. The stock spacer is 3/4.
I used 3/4" on top of the factory thing, because I had bad seals and I didn't want the speakers getting soaked.
I measured the terminals last night, they are 1 3/8 inch off the mounting surface. I would do it tonight but it is raining.

I had to get 1inch spacers for my CDT components to fit. Sucks that they didn't make the door deeper. Doesn't look very clean, but what can you do? Gotta get some thin speakers.
You can buy spacers at bestbuy and prolly other audio shops.

Thanks for the suggestions. They are in the door. I had to snip about 1/4 of an inch of metal at the sides to let the terminals clear the hole. I used a 3/4 inch spacer.
