Default upgrading cams vs. nitrous opinions?

was thinking of doing maybe toda, jun cams etc. or a nitrous shot was wondering what would be better. i use my car daily right now and was looking for a little more power. i dont want to sell her since i just got her back. but i want to do something new. so any opinions would be nice i been debating this for a while. was even thinking turbo but dont want to throw that much into it right now.

thanks

I would say cams because you'll have that added power all the time and not have to worry about refilling a bottle and hitting a button. Plus, Nitrous is pretty abusive to the motor and I've heard plenty of stories.

If you go with cams i suggest getting other things to tune them in such as cam gears, VAFC, and FPR. If you want to raise the compression that will help as well. Nitrous would be cheaper initially but in the long run i bet cams are your best bet (even though they are more expensive if you get everything necessary to tune them in on a dyno).

Read this thread. Will give you some rundowns of different cams tested on a car. If you are looking to spend little, and gain some.. go with the Jun2 intake cam, some cam gears and a VAFC. JMHO, good luck.

Cams may give you everyday power, but if you're just after straight line speed nitrous is going to give you a lot more power and cams are probably going to dissapoint you.

cams can dissapoint for sure.

you can also make a damned good amount of power with stock cams. it's not like putting some cams in will get you an instant 200whp without proper parts.

In my not-so-humble opinion, nitrous + FWD = suck.

For that matter, FI + FWD = suck, too.

I really don't care for having too much power when the layout of the car is woefully incapable of making use of it. But a relatively small shot of nitrous can give you more power than a wallet-busting cache of aftermarket motor parts.

If all you want to do is drag race, get rid of the Integra. This has nothing to do with ITR elitism. This has to do with going fast vs. going broke and still being slow. With the money you would make selling the ITR you could have a 11 second Fox body and a daily beater.

Bullshit.

Horsepower is horsepower. Nitrous is cheap horsepower.

I'd like to see how "*****" you think nitrous is when a Mustang with a 200 shot rips you a new one.
