7 flywhell bolts ok?

Default 7 flywhell bolts ok?

Im posting this for a friend jasonp he recently had troubles with his act clutch which exploded and messed up his eagle crank his question now that everything is back together theres one bolt thread that is pretty much gone on the crank is it ok to run 7 flywheel bolts as compared to 8 thanks-pdang

I am sure it will hold but it will throw the balance off.

I would try to repair the threads in any way possible. If 7 were enough, Honda would have made it that way.

we had to retap one on a 3sgte toyota motor. it worked fine and held up great. retap it just to be safe.

thread insert it. don't just tap or spring it (heli coil).
As stated, if seven was enough honda would have done it

Dont use helicoils, they suck, use a timesert insert, they are great. do you think it could be fixed by just using a bottoming tap?

anyone know the size of the flywheel bolt and what tap i should use? i look on line there is only m12x1.25 i think the flywheel bolt is m12x1.0 not sure i have to check..
