How can I change wheel stud??
alright, the local shop in town impoperly put on one of the lug nuts, so it threaded it on the stud wrong, and when i attempted to get it off today to rotate my tires, it snapped the whole stud off. how can i change the wheel stud by myself or do i need to take it into a shop? thanks guys
LOL.....all u do is remove the caliper and brake rotor and pop the stud out with a hammer.

1. remove wheel
2. remove caliper [it should be 2 bolts to remove the caliper or 4.]
3. remove rotor
4. using a mallet or hammer, gently tap the stud out
5. replace vise versa, remember to get the stud in snuggly and tight. compare it with the other studs to see how far u should hammer it in, it should be all the way.
6. put rotor n caliper back on
7. put wheel back on and test drive to see if it vibrates.
*edit - shouldn't u talk to the shop about it? after all, it's their fault, i'm sure they don't want bad customer service and would be glad to repair something that costs less than 5 bucks in parts.*

if its for the front, you have to pull apart the hub to put the new stud in. Do A search please. I've replied to about 6 of these same questions.
and use antiseize on all your studs from now on...

If they're torqued to spec you won't have any problems.

I agree, and if i remember right tap a new one in and when you torque up your lugs the studs will become snug in the hub.

yes but when torquing the lug, make sure to use washers other wise you may damage the face of the rotor, maybe if your lucky
