Default Things to look for when purchasing a JDM motor

What are some things to look for, service or check when purchasing a used JDM motor. What are some things that usually go bad or are in bad condition.................Thanks

check the sensors, those are the pieces that are broken most of the time

sensors are replaceable. check compression, do a leakdown test. look at all seals: rear main, head gasket. pull the plugs if you can and take a look at them to check for detonation or oil burning

Well he did ask what to look for. So he should check for those too.

If you happen to have a chance to pick out an engine. Pick the one that have a Honda OEM oil filter. This will assure you it was services at the Honda dealership.
Chances are, it was very well maintain.
