scheduled maintenance calls for a bottle of injector cleaner to be put in the gas tank at every oil change. that's the only way you're going to clean them without removing them.

i've never tried that, but i do add a bottle of cleaner to the fuel every so often. i'm sure the gum out stuff couldn't hurt.

The ones that you pour in the gas tank are the easiest to use. I use Regane by Gumout. I'm sure they are professional shops that do it but would cost you some down time for the car. RC Engineering is one place that I know of that offers this service: RC injector cleaning service

Redline fuel injector cleaner is the best I use at least every fourth tank with a bottle of NOS octane booster. 94 octane with octane boost = faster and cleaner. And remember to change your fuel filter 15k-30k, try to get it every 15k though. Matinence, matinence, mantinence..........Do it or pay the price.

Octane has nothing to do with going faster or burning cleaner.

The only situation where octane booster would result in better performance, is if your lower grade octane was detonating and the knock sensors retarded the timming as a result.

it's not that you'll notice a gain in performance.....but if you don't put in cleaner you may notice a loss of performance over time.

uhhhh, the best way to do it is remove them, look in the phone book, go to the auto section. Then lookup injector cleaning services. Take the injectors out, drop them off at the injector cleaner, pick them up in a few hours, pay the 60ish dollars. and install them in your car. a+ work there, and thats the best way!

To tell you the absolute truth if what you say is correct about going faster with octane boost, then I guess more horsepower does not make you go faster, hmmmmmmmm, wouldn't that be amazing. "Horsepower does not make you go faster". I gained 7whp with octane boost, was making 172 @the wheels. But I don't know maybe the dyno lies. But isn't that a thought to ponder, because if increased horsepower does not make your car go faster than what the hell are we doing with these damn cars!!!!!!!!!!

First off - I would like to see the dyno where you are running 172whp on a B18C with only I/H/E

Second - all higher octane does is have a higher resistance to detonation. Tell me how that can increase horsepower? Only one way, if you were detonating before.. and now you are not.

Third - most octane boosters, including the "nos" you praise so highly.. have been tested to add 1 point or less of octane to the fuel. Which means even if you put in 91 grade gas, a bottle of NOS octane booster isn't even going to get you to 92.

Fourth - more peak HP doesn't necissarily mean you will go faster. If you do a mod that adds 5 peak whp, but robs the rest of the powerband of 8whp. You are going to be going slower.

edit: bad syntax

Once I get this whole computer thing figured out I will definantly post my stuff up here. You will see the 165hp dyno run, and the 172hp dyno run, I can't say much more to it until I show you guys the proof, so I will not try to talk it up anymore than I have, I will attempt to keep it calm, but when I do post it up, it will say---

FOR ALL U HATERS

I beleave that it is possible to have 172whp with your mods, its just not likely.

Do you really think going from 93 octane to 93.1 octane is going to add 7whp? Read up on what octane booster does and you will quickly see why if you did get a 7whp difference, it wasn't from a bottle of octane booster.

Plus, what happened inbetween runs? Did you do one run, poor the bottle in and do another? If so, there is no way the octane booster was fully mixed with the fuel, and chances are the engine didn't see a drop of what was put in the tank.

Did you drive it around then dyno it again? Very innacurate. What numbers a car puts down is going to be different in different circumstances. Tempatures, air pressure, etc, all can effect the numbers.

The only acurate way to test that sort of thing is have a portable tank of gas. Fill up the tank enough for one run. Drain that gas, put the bottle of octane booster in, and fill up again from the same portable tank.

edit: grammer
