Default can someone give me a quick explanation on why

the wrx has that really unique sound. It almost sounds like there are two engines or something. I know its a flat 4 but can someone give a little tech info on why the wrx sounds the way it does?

The way the engine fires it acts as two 2 piston engines with the same crank. The pistons on the same side of the motor go against each other instead of against the piston on the opposite side. It is kind of hard to explain but if you look at the order each piston fires then it makes it easier to understand.

The turbo probably makes it sound unique.

The turbo does make a different sound, it turns me on. ;-)
