anythings possible. you could throw a catapillar 3208 marine deisel in a hatch if you had the time. and that weights more than the whole car itself.

I really doubt he could do it FWD since find a tranny would be a major problem. If he said he was going to back half it and make it rwd then maybe I would believe him. Who knows, anything is possible with money!! Besides why would anyone want to put a shitty rotary into a honda when you could easily put a b-series in.

thats what we're thinking...he was being shady and wouldnt pop his hood to let us see what he had....from the sound of the car, it sounded like a B16w/a charger, I guess the funny thing was that he claimed he's never lost and the car he ran was an allmotor civic, which i can smote, so i guess he's gonna lose when i run him next week

Given enough time/money/fabrication, it's possible. The rotary motor's crankshaft rotates the opposite direction to the Honda FWD motors, so it's by no means a simple swap. More likely a RWD conversion would be simpler, as no rotary-equipped vehicles were FWD that I'm aware of.

My initial reaction would be to call BS on this...the sound of a modded rotary is VERY distinctive and hard to mistake for anything else. Listen to a few rotary sound clips and you'll see what I mean. But then, I'm a rotorhead myself and could just be biased

rotaries have a very distinct sound, youd be able to tell the difference just by listening when it revs.

He's full of ****.

On a semi-related note, however, it is relatively simple to drop a Chevy LS1 into a 2nd or 3rd gen RX-7.

Go figure eh?

yeah when i had my '85 rx7 12a rotary (gsl) i was this- close to putting a 350 in it and ripping some **** up! the whole swap is less than $4500 less if you could do it all. and lets think about this, the car weighs 2400lbs with a 350 in, that thing would rip the pavement up for sure!! and you can get a 7 for less than 1k good condition or $600 like mine.

why drop the 13btt(not sure if thats the right engine code) for a sr20? i mean they're good motors but the rotarys are awesome if you just change the coolant ring and the apex seals.
