Is it safe to disconnect my power steering pump's belt? im not taking out the whole power steering thingy, just the belt so my motor doesnt have to run it...is there any chance of seizing my steering by doing that? and does anyone know how much HP u actually free up??

 

i like how you said "free up" instead of "gain". doing what you described wont hurt anything except your arms, since you are then gonna be forcing the fluid through the pump manually. id just recommend taking the whole system off. civics and integras dont need it. youll free up about 8-10 hp
