00 civic si power steering ?
When I got my si 6 months ago the power steering pump was toast, so I figured, what the hell, and took off the belt. I've been told that my car wasn't supposed to be without power steering and that's probably why my front sway bar is busted. Not sure if that was because when i bought it that it was slammed like an inch off the ground or if it's the power steering.
So anyway, later on I was told by a Tuffy employee that my civic uses a hydraulic rack and pinion, as opposed to a manual rack and pinion. Makes sense. He proceeded to inform me that at any given point in time, that I could lose total control of my steering. Comforting.
Ofcourse, my honda-know-it-all buddy's input on the situation was that he could create a "bypass" for the steering. He neglected to explain to me how he planned to do this, and a bullshit argument has seperated us from communicating at the time being.
So really, my question is, who the hell knows what they're talking about? Am I cool to drive with no power steering pump or fluid on a hydraulic rack and pinion or will my steering randomly give out sending me into a probably inevitable car accident?

Re: 00 civic si power steering ? (SeeD419)
i completely removed my ps in my si awhile ago and just looped the rack and pinion so the fluid that was left recirculates, no problem here

A broken sway bar has nothing to do with power steering.
