4 big cc injectors vs. 8 small cc injectors which is better?
From people that have knowlegde with these setup, which one do you think would be a great setup for street/strip looking for 450-550 whp. I heard some people say 4 big injectors like 950 cc does'nt have a good idle and drivability as 8 small injectors like 310 cc. What do you guys think? any info? looking for around 450-500 whp in street/strip form civic hatch. Thanks in advance.
it matters what standalone if its like aem, speedpro, motec, haltech, you can run the 8 but if hondata run 4 850cc's
i think itd be more of a pain to tune a gas setup lik this...8 injectors. i can see it essential on a meth setup since your limited to the size of injectors available
much easier to idle a car with 4 small injectors and 4 big ones rather than just 4 huge ones when using staged injection. Just read the rules of whatever sanctioning body you plan on running in. Some allow only 1 injector per cylinder in street legal classes.
Care to elaborate more on staged injection Jared? I'm not really concerned in running in a class, just a street driven beast. I've got a 4B Hondata to do this...
Thanks!
Thanks!
Can hondata support that big of an injector size? I thought the biggest you can run is like 550cc.

i have 96lb injectors can hondata handle that?
I have a crx and was wondering what about zdyne would that be able to handle it

Idle with 720cc and Haltech is no problem, but tuning the partial throttle and off boost is a tricky thing. Also gas milage with 8 injectrors is better than with 4 big ones, I guess.
I think about switching to 310cc primary and 440cc secondary seatup. JG Edelbrock has the 8 injectors manifold

Injector size has nothing to do with gas mileage. I keep seeing people say that it does. Gas mileage is all about tuning. If you have a bigger injector then your injector pulse is smaller. If you just throw in a bigger injector without remapping the ecu then your gas mileage will be worse but what kind of idiot would do that?
on very low rpm and partial throttle big injectors are just kinda dropping in the fuel, while small ones are by far more exacter to tune.
Why did Honda put into the ITR just 240cc when they are running on 100% duty cycle? I tell you, that is cause the exhaust gases are a bit cleaner = lower fuel concuption.

Can hondata support the 2 stage fueling setup like for stage 1, 310cc and 440 or bigger for stage 2? I'm thinking about purchasing hondata s200 w/ boost option but if that would'nt work, I guess I have to look for real stand alone fuel management.
For one, fuel injectors don't "drop" fuel and I guarantee you a stock type r doesn't run 100% duty cycle. 100% duty cycle is an open injector, not gonna happen...
Can you explain "far more exacter to tune"

on Hondata.com you can read, that stock injector are 100% duty cylcle on the B18C5.
little injectors are easier and smoother to tune
